F1600 Press Release - Adams Track Shot by Michael Haley |
BOWMANVILLE, ON (May 17, 2015) – So far this weekend, Michael Adams and Connor Wagland have been untouchable.
After
winning pole and then yesterday’s Race 1 of Victoria
Day SpeedFest
Weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in A Class and B Class
respectively, the pair topped the timesheets again after Sunday
morning’s second qualifying session to set the grid for this afternoon’s
Race 2.
”We
had a great qualifying session,” Adams said. “We made a couple of
changes in the middle of the session and went back out. The changes
really improved the car, and we set our fastest lap on the last lap.
We’re really happy and looking forward to the race.”
Race
1 second-place finisher Reid Arnold will start alongside Adams on the
front row, and Quebec contenders Jean-Philippe Jodoin and Michel Bonnet –
joining the field this weekend to earn points toward the F1600 Super
Series, which shares its opening weekend with the Toyo Tires F1600
Championship – will fill the second row.
Second in B class behind Wagland is veteran Mike Lee, followed by Steve Bodrug and Amy Castell.
Race
2 for the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and F1600 Super Series closes
